A Margaritaville-branded hotel could anchor a proposed waterfront mixed-use project in Riviera Beach’s Marina Village.

The project’s master developer, Atlanta-based APD Solutions, is partnering with singer-turned-hotelier Jimmy Buffett to add a five-story building with 150 rooms and an 875-space parking garage to anchor the proposed mixed-use site, which also entails 225,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

Construction will begin on the interior portion of a 40,000-square foot food and beverage hall this quarter on the second floor of Privi, an adaptive reuse of a 144,000-square-foot former Sears Building at the Mall at Stonecrest.

Privi, the event and entertainment complex in the former Sears building at The Mall at Stonecrest, today announced that nine tenants will join its Phase 1 anchor, SeaQuest, on the mall’s lower level. The new tenants at Privi include: Baldwin’s Literary Social Bookstore, Priví Art Gallery, The Exposure Hub co-working space, 101 TKO Radio, Priví Event Center, 3 Degrees Infrared Sauna Studio, Picasso’s Splat Room, The Lion’s Cage MMA & Fitness Gym, and Garden Life Juice Bar.

The developer who turned a shuttered Sears store into an aquarium said that was just the beginning of his ambitious redevelopment plans.

Stonecrest Resorts, the real estate development company behind SeaQuest at Stonecrest, announced a slate of new projects for the Mall at Stonecrest. Anchored by the aquarium, the company plans to turn the 15-acre property into a “family entertainment and lifestyle destination,” according to a news release.

The company announced plans for Privi, a large retail and entertainment concept, which will include a food hall, shared office space, a health and wellness complex, an axe-throwing attraction, a comedy venue, a bookstore and several other attractions. In total, the finished development is estimated to create 560 jobs.

A new aquarium opened this month at the Mall at Stonecrest. SeaQuest at Stonecrest, located at 8020 Mall Pkwy., opened Monday, Nov. 8, in the mall’s former Sears building.

The aquarium is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday, according to its website. Visitors are invited to touch, feed and interact with animals from five continents. Virtual field trips are also available through the SeaQuest YouTube page. Tickets can be purchased online.

In what could be the biggest redevelopment project in Riviera Beach history, the city has approved talks with a development team to add a hotel, shops, restaurants, apartments and parking garage to the marina waterfront.

The city council, acting as the CRA board, on Oct. 9 voted 3-1 to begin negotiations on the long-delayed Marina Village project with a joint venture of two minority-owned firms, APD Solutions Real Estate Group and Tezral Partners. APD is based in Atlanta, while Tezral is based in West Palm and includes Riviera Beach’s former CRA director, Tony Brown.
